These Mr Bailey shoes are inspired by the Takashi Murakami Art Sculpture Simple Things
A London based product designer, Daniel Bailey, aka Mr Bailey, was so inspired by Takashi Murakami art sculpture The Simple Things that he designed this outlandishly styled sneaker. Takashi Murakami is an accomplished 21st century artist who tends to blend contemporary art with commercial. Takashi Murakami art is known for its brightly colored and maniacally cheerful works.
The first thing that jumps out about these Mr Bailey sneakers are the The Simple Things teeth on the outsole of these unique sneakers. Each simple thing item appearing inside the sculpture’s mouth are displayed as mini 3D print on the tongue of each tennis shoe. The black outer cover is resembles the skin of sculpture and, when removed, reveals the vibrantly colored sneakers.
Admittedly, you have to have an extraordinarily eccentric style to appreciate these offbeat shoes. Sadly, for those who do there are only three pair in the world. They may be publicly available at auction in the future, but no doubt you will likely have to dig deep to get them. But, hey, it appears Mr Murakami approves, as he can be seen wearing his pair in the photo above.
